# The Checkout object

> Which payment mediums a payment can use, and how they route to your PSPs.

A **checkout** is a configuration you build in the dashboard: a
currency, the mediums to offer (bank transfer, USSD, …), and the rules
that pick a PSP for each medium. Every ugwo is attached to one, either
the one you pass on [create](https://docs.kwugwo.africa/ugwo/create.md) or one picked by your
workspace's routing rules.

Checkouts are created and edited in the dashboard. The API is
read-only, and exposes only what you need to build a payment UI.

## Attributes

**uid** `string`

Unique identifier, `chk.XXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY`.

**currency** `string`

ISO-4217 code this checkout accepts.

**mediums** `object[]`

The mediums enabled on this checkout, in the order you set in the
dashboard. Show them in this order.

**properties**

**medium** `string`

`bank_transfer`, `ussd`, `pay_with_bank` or `mobile_money`.
